 Martial Arts Scholarship

What is the Martial Arts Scholarship?

Martial Arts Scholarship (MAS) is a program of the Agency for Donations & Grants designed to provide youth and children between the ages of 12 and 24 the necessary funds so they can pursue training in the martial arts as a means to cultivate self-discipline, improve their health, and learn respect, honor and courtesy. MAS offers two initiatives, grants and an International Martial Arts Exchange Program.

The mission of the program is to cultivate self-discipline and enhance one’s potential through martial arts.

How does it work?
First, you fill out the online scholarship application form at our official website. Secondly, a representative will review every online application submitted by the program representatives and select the candidates to grant the scholarship. Third, a representative of the program will call you and interview you to verify your information on the phone and grant you the scholarship. Fourth, a representative will send the granted check to an address of the martial arts school you wished to take classes at. (We don't select a teacher nor school, but the applicant does) Finally, you send us photos of you and your instructor holding a check together to verify and you are good to start traininig!

How much is each grant?
Each scholarship is $250 per person at this point as of December 2012. We may change the amount of grant later.

Is it possible to choose private or group classes?
Sure, you can. It is entirely up to you and your teacher how you wish to use your scholarship for whether a group class or private ones. Please discuss with your instructor.

I received the scholarship once. May I apply again for another scholarship?
Yes, you may apply in two years from the date you've received your previous scholarship. For instance, you received your scholarship on December 1st, 2012 and are eligible to come back and apply again for another scholarship after December 1st, 2014.

I live outside of the United States. May I apply?
Yes, you may apply, but we make a first priority to the applicants who reside in the United States and wish to study domestically.
